The Research Unit at Danmarks Nationalbank is looking to fill multiple summer internship positions during May to September 2023
The Position
You will work on research projects with economists in the Research Unit. Your tasks can include preparing large datasets, working with applied econometric methods and solving quantitative models.
As a Summer Intern, you will spend 2-3 months at Danmarks Nationalbank as a project consultant. The workload will depend on the nature of the project and might require varied working hours during the different phases of the project. Some weeks, the workload could attain to that of a full-time position.
The internship is remunerated.
The Research Unit
The Research Unit is a young, international team of PhD economists working on research topics in macroeconomics, finance, household finance and labour economics. It is well-connected with academic institutions in Copenhagen. As it is part of the Monetary Policy Department, the Research Unit is closely involved in the economic policy debate inside Danmarks Nationalbank, the central bank of Denmark.
Your Profile
You have a strong academic background in economics or finance. Ideally, you should be enrolled in the last year of a Bachelor’s degree or in a Master’s degree.
You have basic knowledge of statistical or numerical programming languages (especially STATA, but also MATLAB, Python or R). You will need to be proficient in both English and Danish. Familiarity with microeconometric methods, as demonstrated by high grades in relevant courses, is a great advantage, as is prior experience with working with Statistics Denmark datasets.

Our working hours are spent divided between an open-plan office on Langelinie Allé with harbour-front views and the option to work from home up to two days a week depending on your position and tasks.
